IEEE grants acknowledgment award to José Carlos PrÃncipe
The coordinator of INESC Porto’s International Scientific Advisory Board, José Carlos Príncipe, was granted the 2007 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Career Achievement Award.
This award is granted every year in the area of Biomedical Engineering by IEEE and represents a relevant international acknowledgement that honours this Professor and makes INEC Porto very proud to have him as a collaborator.
The mention that comes with this acknowledgment specifies that the award is given by outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of Biomedical Engineering as an educator, researcher, developer, or administrator who has had a distinguished career of twenty years or more in the field of biomedical engineering.
José Carlos Príncipe, Professor at the University of Florida, IEEE Fellow and Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions in Biomedical Engineering for several years, will see his career acknowledged on the 24th of August, day of the award ceremony which will take place in Lyon, France, during the 29th Annual International Conference of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EBMC 2007).
