A Sad Little Secret

In an institution where new technologies, innovation and progress are always ahead, here's that we found a relic contrasting with this modern age.

This sad little secret is nothing more than a notebook that is older than INESC Porto itself: a little notebook used to register correspondence which just turned 20 years old. It seems to be part of the furniture already.

For an institution which prides itself on its dematerialized workflow and SAP control, this is a piece of work.

Some experts say that this is, in fact, digital technology. The notes are made by hand... a hand holding a pen.

The notebook is a real work of art, a little box filled with surprises. The first entry goes back to 1987 and the last one to 2007. The notebook is still used and remains unchangeable unlike its faithful guardian, as you can see in the pictures. Nevertheless, considering that so much time has passed by, he's quite well preserved!
