INESC Porto publishes important articles in Fiber and Integrated Optics journal
Fiber and Integrated Optics is a bimonthly journal (impact factor 0.600) dedicated to the dissemination of significant developments in the areas of fiber and integrated optics.
This journal presents a balanced view on basic research topics, applications and economic aspects.
The article “Application of fiber optic grating technology to multi-parameter measurement” was published in 2004 and written by Orlando Frazão, José Luís Santos, Francisco Araújo and Luís Ferreira from the Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE). The article ranked first for the most cited article between 2002 and 2005 and seventh for the most downloaded article during the same period.
The article “Luminescence-based optical fiber chemical sensors”, also from UOSE, was published in 2005 and it ranked fourth for the most downloaded article during the same period. It was written by Pedro Jorge, Paulo Caldas, Carla Carmelo Rosa and José Luís Santos.
Although this is a quite specific journal, these results show that the work that was developed is relevant and the fact that these articles were published is a motivating acknowledgement.
