On the 2nd and 3rd of May, the External Scientific Advisors will visit INESC Porto. The visit will be extremely relevant, not only because it will assess the Institution’s trajectory, but also because it will help define the strategy for future action.

The Committee is presided by

–   Professor José Carlos Príncipe (University of Florida, USA)

and the evaluation will be carried out by the following members:

-   Volker Stich (FIR, Germany) with special emphasis on the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit;

-  Faramarz Farahi (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA), new member of the Committee, with particular interest in the Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit;

-  Tomás Gomez (Universidade Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, Espanha) dedicating himself to the Power Systems Unit;

-  Michel Scholl (INRIA, France) focusing on the Information and Communication Systems Unit and

–  Leonardo Chiariglione (Media Lab, Itália), with special interest in the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit.

INESC Porto was last visited by this Committee in July 2001.
