UOSE has a new PhD 
The Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE) has one more PhD since July 17.
The collaborator Gaspar Mendes do Rego took his PhD exam in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), presenting his thesis “Arc-Induced Long-Period Fibre Gratings. Fabrication and Their Applications in Optical Communications and Sensing".
The jury was chaired by Silva Matos of FEUP and the discussers were Oleg Okhotnikov of Tampere University of Technology and Paulo Monteiro of the University of Aveiro. The supervisor Henrique Salgado (FEUP) and co-supervisor José Luis Santos (FCUP) completed the jury.
