USE does consultancy work for the Hungarian Energy Office

The Power Systems Unit (USE) will start doing consultancy work for the Hungarian Energy Office as well as for the Transportation Network Operator (MAVIR).

This partnership's goal is to study how feasible it is for Hungary to use wind energy to produce electricity thus reducing its dependency on fossil fuels. This would be a way to follow the European Union's effort on this matter.

Hungary defined an integration limit of 330 MW in wind generation. Thus, the purpose is to study the possibility of increasing this value using management and advanced control mechanisms in wind generators and wind parks.

João Peças Lopes will be leading this project along with Luís Seca and Ângelo Mendonça.
