“Several faces, one identity”

INESC Mágico suggests activities

Imagem Principal Artigo

Last February 15th, INESC Porto’s Board announced the creation of a “Cultural Committee whose aim is to organize cultural and recreational events for all INESC Porto’s collaborators”. This committee, functioning as a part of the Communication Service, has its own budget of 800 euros and it will be permanently open to new volunteers.

The Committee is called INESC Mágico and its mission is to “organize art and leisure activities which promote interaction among all INESC Porto’s collaborators”, with emphasis on the promotion of values like team spirit, creativity and dynamism.

The Inesquians themselves will bring these activities to life, whether as protagonists or as audience. In particular, INESC Mágico will offer and select suggestions for activities which will take place in INESC Porto’s two physical places, alternately. As a starting point, we announce the following items and we are counting on your suggestions!

“Magic Lesson”
This activity invites any Inesquian to give a speech or offer a workshop on a given theme. In particular, we suggest the “magic teacher” picks a subject that s/he considers unusual such as a collection, a hobby, a relaxing technique, a recipe, painting, sculpture, photography, etc.

“Pirilampo Mágico”
This activity invites any Inesquian to recognise a positive aspect in INESC Porto. We suggest the “magic fan” elects one or several Inesquians as the most humourous, generous, friendly, serviceable, etc, who will be awarded with a Pirilampo Mágico.

“Magic Visit”
This activity invites any Inesquian, or group of Inesquians, to organize a guided tour to their units. In particular, we suggest the “magic guides” show the rest of the units the most important aspects of its activity.

“Magic Presentation”
This activity invites any Inesquian or group of Inesquians to make a presentation of their work. We suggest the “magic speakers” pick a theme that can be subject to comments from other units.

“Magic Stage”
This activity invites a group of Inesquians to go on stage to put on a show of any kind. We suggest the “magic artists” pick a subject like jokes, poetry, magic, etc.

“Magic Debate”
This activity invites a group of Inesquians to moderate a debate on a given subject. We suggest the “magic moderators” pick a subject which is of interest to INESC Porto.

“Magic Cake”
This activity invites all Inesquians to contribute to a fund meant for a birthday cake for every one of its subscribers. We suggest the “Magic Birthday People” inform us on their birthday (not the year!) so that the INESC Porto’s bar can provide for the respective cake.

The invitation is addressed to all INESC Porto’s collaborators so that they suggest activities for each one of these items. The suggestions can be sent to or to the current members of INESC Mágico: Alexandra Xavier, Catarina Monteiro, Ana Rodrigues, Cidália Lima, Ireneu Dias, Luís Teixeira, Paula Castro, Ricardo Madureira and Rosa Muniz.

So let us be dynamic and creative so that INESC Porto can be an increasingly strong team.
