SIG develops new functionalities for BIP

The Management Information Service (SIG) is responsible for this bulletin’s content management platform. INESC Porto’s Bulletin has new automatisms and functionalities since the last issue.

The main changes are: the new address at http://bip.inescporto.pt; the possibility of commenting on the articles in order to increase the interaction with the collaborators (only for internal collaborators). In order to help divulge BIP it is possible to access the articles’ summaries (Atom, RSS) using a feed reader (ex: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, FeedReader, etc.). The WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor is being used for the articles’ edition – it helps in the edition and it enables the viewing of the content before it is published.

Now there is also a control center that enables the indication of which articles are published for each one of the issues (internal/Portuguese, internal/English, public/Portuguese and public/English). Besides that, the contents of the e-mails for the external promotion of BIP are being generated automatically and according to the target audience.

New functionalities will be inserted gradually in a way as to improve our BIP.
