UESP supports the internationalisation of Portuguese companies

Following the example of previous years, INESC Porto, through the Portuguese Innovation Centre, was present at the IRC Future Match brokerage which took place in Hannover for CeBIT 2006 and was put together by the Innovation Relay Centres.

This great event of technology transfer welcomed 517 international companies that presented 739 technological profiles in the areas of ICTs.

Nancy Smith, responsible for the organisation of the event, considers the Portuguese participation in Future Match to be really good. She stands out that “the Portuguese Innovation Centre always brings a great number of companies and tries to make the best of their involvement, making sure the companies have a correct access to the schedules and the place where the meetings will take place”.

The number of Portuguese companies that participated in this event has been increasing substantially. In 2005 11 companies presented 14 profiles; in 2006, the Portuguese Innovation Centre worked with 21 Portuguese companies that presented 37 technological profiles.

INESC Porto presented six technological offers: five from the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (a solution of internal logistics, three Nesting technologies and a bundling one - EMPAC) and one from the Information and Communication Systems Unit (content management – SIGDIC ).

EMPAC and SIGDIC profiles were the most demanded. The Portuguese Innovation Centre’s team is working towards an establishing of negotiations for transfer of these technologies.

António Correia Alves and Ana Catarina Monteiro represented INESC Porto in this event.
