INESC Porto in FEUP Open Week…

On the coming March 6 – 10, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) will welcome students from several high-schools in the north of country.

Like in the previous editions, the Open Week objective is to try to make engineering more attractive to the younger ones.

As a FEUP associate, INESC Porto will also participate actively in this initiative. There are presentations scheduled for the five days of the event in the following themes: INESC Porto and R&D areas, Multimedia Tools, Industrial Automation, Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems, Renewable Energies and Geographical Information Systems applied to Municipalities.

...and in the UP Science, Education and Innovation Exhibition

INESC Porto will once more participate in the Science, Education and Innovation Exhibition, taking place from March 16 – 19 at the Rosa Mota Pavilion.

The Rectory of the University of Porto (UP) is in charge of the organization of the event. The main goal is to inform young students about the degrees this University offers as well as to motivate them to become acquainted with its varied facets.

Simultaneously, the Exhibition of the University of Porto wants to establish a closer relationship with the community in which the University is, aiming at public awareness of its several activities.

All the faculties that integrate the University will be present as well as distinguished research centres in which INESC Porto is included.

INESC Porto’s space will highlight a possible model of the future railway bridge over the Douro river for the high-speed trains, instrumented with an integrated monitoring system made of different types of Bragg sensors. A jump height measurement using a fiber optic grid will be in display also.

The Exhibition will be available on the days indicated above, from 10 a.m – 8 p.m. (Saturday it will be open until 11 p.m).
