USIC, the Information and Communication Systems Unit, has
recently concluded SIGDiC - Integrated System of Management
and Diffusion of Contents project, in partnership with RTP
(the State TV broadcaster) for the development of a modular
system of support to the creation and diffusion of contents.
During the project, several modules have been developed.
They enable an integrated management of contents coming from
several sources and automatic or semi-automatic diffusion of
contents, in different communication channels
(computer-based graphics, WAP, Web, Teletext)
Currently, RTP is exploring the WAP module that allows
the reuse of contents developed for Teletext, so that they
can automatically create and maintain an information portal
for mobile terminals.
Simultaneously, RTP uses the computer-based graphics for
the news crawl (footnote) of RTPn (a cable broadcaster) news
and information programs. The choice was due to the
possibility of remote management and the need for automation
of the process of creation of contents through the
integration with the writing system, ENPS (Electronic News
Production System) of the Associated Press.
